Monaco and Monte Carlo. Our first excursion.  Canne   France.

              Monte Carlo and Monaco are not the same thing: Monaco is the name of the entire sovereign country, while Monte Carlo is a district within that country, famous for its casino and luxurious image. Think of it like this: Monaco is the city-state, and Monte Carlo is a specific, very famous neighborhood inside of it.

  
Monaco: This is the official name of the entire sovereign country, officially known as the Principality of Monaco. It is a small city-state located on the French Riviera. 
Monte Carlo: This is the name of a district (or "quartier") within the Principality of Monaco. It is the most famous part of Monaco and is home to the iconic Monte Carlo Casino, as well as luxury hotels and high-end shops.
