Grateful and Blessed

I'm starting a Grateful journal. I hope you might start one too!

Life is good and by no means perfect. There are good days and not so good days but we all should be able to find one thing to be grateful for each day. They say it's the little things in life that matter and that is so true.

When I looked out my window today I saw two full breasted robins looking at me as I looked at them.  It was too funny and brought this big smile to my face!

When we wake up each morning (that is something to be grateful for) hopefully we appreciate life?

I think when we are young we take life for granted.  It's not intentional but it is how the mind of a young person works. They can't possibly have the wisdom at an early age to even fathom how lucky they are to be alive. Our gift from God!

As we age life brings many challenges.  Growing up is not easy and I've had early challenges as a young child and teenager and then on to stressful jobs, looking for and possibly finding love, staying single. Note:** I thought my calling was to be a nun in the Catholic church.  I wasn't sure I wanted to get married.  I loved the peacefulness I felt when I attended church and going to catholic retreats.   I thought about it seriously as a 14-16 year old but met a great guy, dated for several years and I truly wanted to get married and have children so that is the path I chose.

I had no idea what raising children, unplanned illness and then  possibly caring for a loved one would involve.

It would be unrealistic to think that life would be perfect but as  young child you couldn't or wouldn't want to think that far into the future.

As I am aging I see the broader picture. Not all days will be perfect and because of  a  realistic view of life I can deal with whatever comes into it.  I am just very thankful for how I was raised by two loving parents who taught me their morals and values and I was able to pass those on to my children.

It's up to us to look at everyday God gives us as a blessing and you can share that blessing with everyone that surrounds you by being positive, encouraging and realistic.  The word REALISTIC is so important.  Sometimes we get caught up and might feel sorry for how things are going for us but being Realistic (knowing that not everything is always possible) at that particular time you and I can make every day a Good Day ! Through thick and thin, good and not so good we'll do it.   It's up to us!

My next page in My Grateful Journal with be as soon as I can find a little more time.  I think it's a worthwhile page for you to check out.  It'll be listed under the pages section of the blog.

Have a Good Day!

See you soon,

I love this page! I, too, have learned to be Grateful for each day, each opportunity, and each person who comes into my life with something to share. Thanks for sharing your wonderful cooking blog and this great page on Gratitude for the good things we have.
