Christmas 2025

A great day in every way.  Missed our grandsons especially and their parents too but we FaceTimed so it was all good!

Today I’m staying in and cherishing every minute.

It’s good to take a day off from baking and cooking but what to eat??? lol  lots of cookies but it was a basic homemade gnocchi by our son and he didn’t allow for leftovers!!!!!

I made sauce with pork country style ribs, meatballs and a huge salad.

The charcuterie board was basic but perfect. No big fuss this year and so we had more time to
Enjoy each other with conversation.

Our daughter and family

Chestnuts too!

From my family to yours,

Fall memories of roasted or baked chestnuts

I have early memories of chestnuts as I grew up. It was a tradition at Thanksgiving especially.  My mom would sometimes boil them, but other times she would make X slit in the middle of the chestnut and bake them.

Depending on amount I bake 425° for 13 minutes.  Adjust baking time to amount of chestnuts.  I was cautious because at $10.99 a lb. I didn’t want was to waste a bite…

We visited a  farmers market while in Italy.  This is a small example of how they are sold.  Baskets and baskets of them.  Unfortunately since we were traveling I couldn’t purchase any at this time.
