Chocolate pecan pretzel pie!

This has been on my I must make list for so very long so I'm sharing it today hoping you'll make it............

I have all the ingredients so I was joking above but if you happen to make it before I do and want to share it on my Facebook page I'd love it.

It doesn't look difficult so just maybe there will be a Easter dessert that I'll be serving on Easter for the family.

 1 refrigerated pie crust
2 eggs
1 cup light corn syrup
2 T unsalted butter, melted
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1 tap. Grated orange zest
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
2 cups pecans
1/4 cup mini pretzels broken in pieces
3/4 cup chocolate chips

Heat oven to 350 degrees

Fit crust crust into 9" in pie plate. Make sure you create a thick rim.  Crimp and refrigerate until ready to fill.

In a large bowl whisk eggs, corn syrup, butter, vanilla, sugar and orange zest cinnamon and salt.

Stir in pecans, pretzels and chocolate chips.

Spoon mixture into prepared pie crust.

Bake for 30minutes.

Cover the pie with foil and bake until the filling is puffed and the center is set.  15 to 20 minutes more.  Transfer to rack and cool to room temperature.

Cool Gifts

A plant or herb they would enjoy.  Christmas Cactus or a pothos plant are beautiful and easy to maintain.  The cactus produces flowers this time of year the the Pothos plant comes in a variety of variagted or green leaves which is great for a low light areas.

Jade Plant

A colorful plant container(Rosemary plants) are available this time of year.  They are easily kept indoors for all year round herb use. This is my Rosemary that I took outside in summer after spending the winter inside my home.

Why not make a basket with some kitchen or garden tools?  I love mine!  Go to your local garden center or discount department stores and buy a inexpensive basket or garden container and fill with useful garden tools and supplies.  There are so many to choose from and as a person who loves anything garden friendly I would love anything from there.  Tools, plant spikes, gloves, etc.  They'll love it to name a few!

For the baker or cook a new cookbook would be appreciated.

One more gift idea is a Gift card to their favorite grocery store.  Who wouldn't like that?  Practical and definitely would be appreciated.

I'm hoping some of these gift suggestions have been helpful and they won't break your gift budget either.

Ho ho ho and Merry Christmas to all! xo

Nana's Sesame Seed Cookies

One of my favorite cookies my Nana used to make were Sesame Seed.  A firm cookie that was rolled in sesame seeds and baked until toasted. It seems like yesterday that I was eating these cookies and I never could get my fill of them.  Not too sweet just right!  In other words..........  Yummy!

This is straight from my Cookbook so I'm sharing a family recipe because that's what this blog is about.  Friends sharing recipes from generation to generation and hopefully more generations in the future.

My Christmas Reminder . If you want to make some wonderful memories with your grandchildren this is a must. My sweeties are growing so quickly but I have these memories to last forever. They laugh now at how they drew then and now.

I post these photos every year as a suggestion to all grandparents. I have this tradition every Christmas where my grandchildren write, draw or color something that reminds them of Christmas on a washable tablecloth with fabric/markers/ pens that I purchased at our local craft store. I didn't start it as early as I had wanted to so take note of that.

Try to start this Christmas tradition when they are young enough to draw a little bit. Maybe 3. I started when our youngest grandson was 4. They love doing it and the oldest are 18 so I'm thinking it may be their last at this but who knows?

Making wonderful memories that will last a lifetime. I bought my tablecloth for around $10  and the pens are probably around $5 or so. Enjoy! We sure do!!
