Sweet BBQ Bake
Today was my day to try to put together an easy appetizer or snack food recipe..Some days I just want to make and create not that this is a big creation. Just a little something that is easy to make and satisfies as well as fills our tummy.. I had some really nice chuck and added some ingredients that I had and here it is: Enjoy!
1 lb. chuck ground(beef)
1 tablespoon oil
1 -15 oz. Hunts sauce
1/2 cup ketchup
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
3 tablespoon brown sugar
1 small onion chopped
1/2 tsp. yellow mustard
1/2 tsp.salt and pepper
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
8 oz. mozzarella cheese(or cheese of choice) pepper cheese might add a nice touch
1 -16 oz. can Bush's country style beans
In a large pan, cook beef and onion in oil with salt and pepper until slightly browned. Add sauce, ketchup, mustard, brown sugar,Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder until bubbly and starts to thicken slightly. Approximately 30 minutes. Take off heat..
In a baking pan place 1/2 ground meat mixture and then layer with mozzarella cheese, baked beans. Top with more meat mixture, mozzarella and beans until all is used. Bake 350 about 15 to 30 minutes or until cheese melts and is hot and bubbly... Cool slightly to set. Serve with Corn chips Dippers..Cool slightly to set.. Enjoy!
Happy Cooking !
Note: Instead of corn chips you could top this with some Pillsbury biscuits and bake according to biscuit directions for a light meal...
