Why buy a box mix to make Belgium waffles when homemade are super easy.
Today’s recipe was so good. It made about 7 large waffles and we ate a few as a late breakfast.
You can eat them with butter and syrup, fresh berries,cinnamon or powdered sugar. I pureed a container of raspberries to top them because hubby likes raspberries.
Hubby added whipped cream to his. Real whipped cream!!
I saved several and I’ve been toasting them in the toaster oven... omg I love them with fresh butter. Great!!
It an excellent breakfast or evening meal suggestion. They freeze well too.
Storing: Use wax paper or parchment in between layers then I place them in a large freezer bag for later. Enjoy!
2 1/4 cup flour
1 tsp. Baking powder
3 tablespoons sugar
1/2 tsp. Salt
2 large eggs separated
1 tsp. Cinnamon
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 cups milk
1 tsp. Vanilla
Pre-heat your waffle iron. Spray with cooking spray before turning on heat.
Place dry ingredients in a large bowl.
Separate eggs.
Add egg yolks and vanilla to dry ingredients along with vegetable oil using a hand mixer. Slowly add milk to mix.
In a separate bowl using a hand mixer beat egg whites until stiff.
Using a wire whisk or spatula gently incorporate egg whites into all ingredients.
Note: I used a 1/2 cup measuring cup as my gage for the amount to use to get a nice size waffle.
