Spicy sausage dip or spread

For all the meat lovers out there.

Spicy, loaded with cheese and sooooo tasty that's what this is. Sure fire yummy!

I had a hard time coming up on what to refer this as a dip versus spread explanation.  My hubby and kids scooped it up with nachos and I used it on crackers so you decide what you might like to refer to it as when you make this. It's perfect for New Year's Eve or a football game munchie.

Enjoy!

1+ lb. hot pork sausage
1-10 oz. can diced tomato and green chiles
1- 8 oz. softened cream cheese
3/4 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
Large corn chip, scoops, nachos or a solid cracker will work.

Cook sausage in a large skillet until meat crumbles and is no longer pink. Drain well. Drain tomato and green chiles, reserving 1/4 cup liquid. Stir together sausage, diced tomato and green chiles, reserved liquid and cream cheese. Spoon onto lightly greased 1 quart baking dish. Sprinkle with cheddar cheese and bake 350 degrees 20 to 25 minutes or until bubbly. Serve immediately.  Enjoy!

Our 2017 Christmas

Here we are another year and another Christmas to feel extremely grateful and blessed.

We are blessed to have celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary in July and the oldest two of our grandchildren turned 21 this year and are juniors at the same college.  We feel that is so great!  Cousins and good friends.

I’m in a typing mood and feeling so blessed that I’d like to tell you a little more about our five grandchildren.

Our middle grandson is a senior in high school and a computer genius.  He will be off to college next year. He is the one who helped me write a cookbook, get my blog going and has been accepted to the college of his choice.

Our youngest granddaughter is a junior in high school and captain of her high school cheerleading team.  She is also a news anchor on her school daily newsfeed. She’ll be applying to colleges next year.

Our youngest grandson not only excels academically but also is on the varsity basketball team which is amazing since he is a freshman.

We are proud of them and are hoping to see them reach their life goals.

I miss my mom, dad and brother but thank God I have this beautiful family to keep me going. You must remember to have faith because faith is what keeps me going.

It was a Great day if I must say. We had lots to eat and laughed a whole lot. The best time is when we are together as a family.

Counting my blessings.  I love them all.

Our Family Christmas 2016 "Buon Natale"!!!

Merry Christmas from my family to yours,

Our Christmas was wonderful and fun. Games, gifts and lots of food and laughter.  It also helped that our Steelers played and won a great game.  We were all glued to the TV.

How can it not be fun with 3 teenagers and 2 twenty year old?

I look forward to our Christmas family get together every year  because as the grandchildren get older they have many social and school options so Christmas is a time we can connect and find out a little more about what's going on in their lives.

Two are in college and one is busy with soccer and the other is busy with basketball. Practice practice practice. Our youngest granddaughter is a high school cheerleader which doesn't give her many free nights.

They excel in their studies and are very conscientious of the importance of a good education.  Makes me very proud.

Here are a few photos of the day.

How to set a table

Hi everyone:

If you have doubts on a correct table setting this one should help.

Our grandchildren laugh at how Poppy, that's what they call him, insisted they learn at a young age how to set a table for a meal. Good table manners and how to set a table was somehow important to him. I guess he had a point because truthfully I never new an exact way to set a table myself. We are never too old to learn.:)

Many laughs occurred doing those years. Lots of funny memories but they all have good table manners but I doubt they set a table quite like this.

Enjoy! Save this post.  It may come in handy when you entertain. lol

Christmas fun for everyone!

Hi everyone.  I'm going to be sitting back a bit starting the 22nd  doing very little posting unless I decide to make a few new cookie recipes I decided to make last minute. I'll be busy prepping and preparing for our Christmas dinner 2017.

Our family is 11 and our grandchildren are home from college(2) and the others(3) will be soon out for Christmas break. It's probably the only time of year we can manage to get them together at the same time which is not the way it used to be but I understand(scratching my  head) wishing it could be the way it used to be way back when.  Times have changed and maybe that's what my parents used to say. Just tells you how old in years I am. I'm still a kid at heart and intend to stay this way until forever.....

My menu is set and most of my main food items are made and all I have to do it put it all together.  It's all laid out in my mind lol.  I haven't decided on what antipasto design I will make.  It may just be something simple unless my ambition to create takes over.

My family will be surprised at the main entree. I won't bring attention to it because they may be checking out my page.

Hubby and I do manage to buy the extra gift we do every year where each family guesses what is in the box.

The largest wrapped gift on bottom is the family gift.

If I haven't told you about it I will now.  We buy something we feel is family friendly in the $50.00 range.  I Wrap it and we give them clues.  The family closest to what the actual gift is by guessing wins it.  It's fun! They go crazy over our clues. haha

We also do the saran wrap fun game.

Hubby helps me by Wrapping up small items(dollar store) and small amounts of $$ rolling and twisting piece by piece until you have a huge ball.  You can find the how to on the internet. I'll give you the link.

Check back to see what's baking and cooking in my kitchen when you get a chance.  Have a safe and enjoyable holiday.

P. S. This is also a nice tradition to start if you haven't already. Buy an inexpensive tablecloth and let the little ones start decorating the tablecloth with washable markers. I started this way back in 2007....

Hugs, love and Blessings to everyone!

Merry Christmas........
