We were invited by our good friends to spend a few days in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida with them. We have been friends forever and when they mentioned they would love to have us visit we couldn't resist.
Ft. Lauderdale is beautiful and a very beachy town. Lots of gorgeous white sand and although the temperature reads 78 there is a cool breeze swaying the Palm trees which makes it very comfortable.
Yesterday we all ventured to South Beach, Miami! Wow!!! pretty much comes to mind when SOUTH BEACH is mentioned. Glorious restaurants, old and new, decorated to the max. Trendy people and gorgeous boutiques. Courteous salespeople and servers. An A+ experience.
We were there on a Monday mid day so that might explain the ease and comfort of the experience. Our friends have been there for Mardi Gras and said it was a mad house so we felt really good being able to walk the street, enjoy the sites (Gianni Versace) home. Note: He was shot on the steps of his home after coming home from his daily trip to the near by coffee shop.
Later in the day we managed to catch a boat site seeing tour in Ft. Lauderdale checking out Millionaire's Row. Yacht's valued at 23 million and more. So many rich. They just leave their yacht boarded next to their homes. It really didn't look as though anyone was living at either when we rode by.
Below are a few of the photos I was fortunate to be able to take. Hope you enjoy this little diversion from food into the world of the Rich and very rich.
