Ground Turkey Stroganoff

Here's a new recipe I haven't tried as of yet but thought you may be interested in making using ground turkey.  More and more recipes are using ground turkey for a healthier version so I'm thinking you may also use low fat sour cream and skim milk for a healthy meal.

I clip and cut all recipes that appeal to me but unfortunately time doesn't allow me to make every single one.  This one looks very interesting.

A new Stroganoff using ground turkey.

1 lb ground turkey
1 small onion, finely diced
1 cup mushrooms, sliced
1/2 cup peas
1 1/2 cups low sodium chicken broth
1/3 cup 1 %  milk
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 cup light sour cream
hot cooked egg noodles

Directions:

1
In a skillet, cook turkey and onion until meat is no longer pink; drain.
2
Add mushrooms and peas. Cook and stir for 1 minute. Stir in the soup, milk, garlic, salt and pepper.
3
Bring to a boil. Reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered for 5-10 minutes.
4
Stir in sour cream; heat gently. Do not boil. Serve over noodles.

Note:  Thicken slightly with 1 to 2 tsp. cornstarch if you think you'd like it a thicker consistency. (mix with slight amount of water before adding to recipe).
